Goals: Self Authoring

THIS Is A Miracle of Stupidity! w/ Dr. Jordan Peterson - YouTube

How the Self Authoring Program Works | Jordan B Peterson - YouTube

you need to develop a vision for your life and that makes delaying
gratification for example and not engaging in impulsive momentary pleasure worthwhile
because you're building towards something that you actually want to attain

what do you want your life to look like in five years

when you have a vision that's very very clear and high definition, burnout just kind of goes away

help people develop a vision and one of the things we ask people to do is
just to sit for 15 minutes write for 15 minutes badly

students do that before they went to university
and just doing it for 90 minutes developing that Vision
drop their dropout rate 50 percent
and increase the grade point average 35 percent

our school system was set up to produce mindless obedient workers...

People who spend time writing carefully about themselves
become happier, less anxious and depressed and physically healthier.
They become more productive, persistent and engaged in life.
This is because thinking about where you came from,
who you are and where you are going helps you chart a simpler and more rewarding path through life.

There’s some impressive science to back up goal setting. And yet it’s something we’re never taught or encouraged to do. But the statistics don’t lie, and make a strong argument for getting good at this skill; and making a habit of it.

A Harvard Business Study found that the 3% of graduates from their MBA who had their goals written down, ended up earning ten times as much as the other 97% put together, just ten years after graduation.

S-M-A-R-T Goals.
This acronym stands for Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic, Timely.
